The screams of the Druid people were heard, loud and clear, the smoke erupting from their camp visible for miles around. The guards chased a woman and her child through the woods.
"Hurry Avalon!" the mother breathed.
"I'm trying Mama!" her child replied. The woman brought her daughter to a small cave.
"Quickly! Get inside!" After climbing in, the girl looked at her mother.
"There's no room for you!"
"It's OK. Stay here until morning. Stay hidden and do not leave this cave until then. There's food and water here for you." She looked quickly at the knights shouting from the hill, then back to her daughter. "Here! Take this!" She took off her necklace, a beautiful gold chain with a heart-shaped diamond encased in the same brilliant gold, and placed it around Avalon's neck. "Go to Camelot. There's a man at the castle, a physician, named Gaius. Tell him your name and he will take care of you. Good luck sweetheart." She quickly kissed her daughter's forehead and smiled. "I love you Avalon." The young child cried.
"Where are you going?"
"I'm going to distract the knights for you."
"No! Don't!"
"Stay hidden Avalon! Then go to Gaius in the morning. Your destiny waits for you there." Without letting the child say any more, she ran up the hill. "Over here!" she shouted, waving her hands over her head to attract the knights, and ran away from the cave. While Avalon watched her brave mother give her life for her daughter's safety, she stared at the necklace her mother had given her.
"My destiny lies in Camelot," she whispered to herself.

Yeah, I'm getting through that list of things to do on dA now. PT.0 of MDLIC and I think it's complete and utter fluff that started out with Ollie B.

All characters that are to be recognised from the show are not of my design in any way shape or form. Avalon and all other characters revolving around her are though. The preview image is one I found online and added words and a couple of filters to.
Summary: A Druid camp is awoken by the Knights of Camelot during the depths of the night. Of the few that escape, a mother (to be named later) and her young daughter, Avalon, try to evade them. In one last attempt to preserve Avalon's life from the sword's blade, her mother hides her in cave and leads the Knights away from the hiding place. As she watches her mother sacrifice herself for her life, Avalon tightly holds onto the ornate necklace her mother left her, deciding that to find her destiny she must travel to the city of Camelot.
